I’m not going to waste my time proving all five reasons wrong, so I’ll just argue the one that irritates me the most. Number two: “Harry Potter has barely any romantic love. It’s all about ...See more family and friendship. That is so lame!”
So, what, you think that your family and friends are lame? That loving them is lame? Romantic love isn’t everything, honey. Also, the quality of a book should not be judged by how much romance is in it. I could name plenty of good books with little to no romance in them! Holes. Because of Winn-Dixie. Inkheart (at least the first one). A Series of Unfortunate Events. The Chronicles of Narnia. The Help (yes, Skeeter DID go out with Stuart, but it was a pretty small subplot).
Next, saying that Harry Potter has no romance in it tells me that you OBVIOUSLY did not read books 4-7 or even seen movies 4-7. Ron and Hermione’s relationship is FULL of sexual tension from book four onward. I mean, did you even read Half-Blood Prince? Hello! Huge Ron-Hermione-Lavender love triangle there! And Harry’s got a thing for Ginny the whole time! That book had so much romance in it that Harry’s quest to destroy Voldemort almost became a subplot!
