I love writing blogs on vampires, especially the iconic characters from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga! As if being an immortal vampire is not cool enough (I used to pretend I was one, minus the drinking blood ritual stuff), many vampires possess extra supernatural gifts. While every vampire in the series gets enhanced speed and strength, only a select few inherit rare mental or tactile traits. Below, I am sharing the 5 coolest twilight vampire powers and unique abilities ranked from awesome to absolute favorite.
In the Twilight universe, vampire gifts generally fall into two main categories:

5. Jasper
Jasper Hale sure did have incredible mood manipulation (pathokinesis), didn’t he! When he was near Bella Swan, do you remember how he manipulated her feelings to make her relax and agree to attend her birthday party at the Cullen house? Jasper can sense and influence the emotions of anyone around him in a given radius. His talent stems from his human past as a charismatic military leader, making his ability one of the most practical and subtle vampire powers and abilities in the series. Yes, Jasper sure is good at what he does!

Edward Cullen has a neat ability to read people’s minds across impressive distances. The target people don’t even need to be vampires; he can hear the thoughts of humans, vampires, and even shapeshifters like Jacob Black. His telepathy picks up every inner monologue, intention, and secret around him. However, there is one major exception: he cannot read the mind of his true love, Bella, which constantly intrigues and aggravates him. Compared to Jasper's emotional manipulation, Edward's mind reading gives him unmatched tactical insight into every situation.

Bella Swan possessed a powerful mental shield even before her transformation into a vampire. Even Edward's mind reading was completely blocked by her shield, preventing any psychic intrusion into her thoughts and really aggravating him at first. Once turned, Bella learned to project her defensive shield outward to safeguard her entire family from mental attacks, such as Jane's pain projection or Alec's sensory deprivation. Of course, we know Bella is glad her private thoughts stayed protected from Edward!

If she didn’t see that vision—or misinterpret Bella's cliff diving—would Bella and Edward ever have reunited in Italy? Renesmee Cullen is Edward and Bella’s unique vampire-human hybrid daughter introduced in Breaking Dawn. As if having a half-vampire child isn’t cute enough, she possesses a rare gift that is the exact inverse of her parents' powers: by touching someone's skin, she transmits her thoughts, memories, and feelings directly into their mind, bypassing all mental barriers (including Bella's shield). Her gift forces anyone who feels her touch to see the undeniable truth. Isn’t that an amazingly cool unique vampire gift?
